Our Inspection Philosophy

Effective mechanical integrity inspection is not just about finding cracks and pits; it's about understanding why they are present. With 25 years of hands-on experience, we go beyond standard NDT services to analyze your entire process. We recognize that the temperature, pressure, fluid chemistry, and flow dynamics inside your equipment directly cause the damage we observe on the outside.

Our philosophy is straightforward: We inspect the system, not just the steel. By connecting the NDT data to the realities of your process, we conduct thorough corrosion analysis to pinpoint the root cause of corrosion, predict future problem areas, and provide recommendations that are not merely repairs, but long-term solutions. This proactive, knowledge-based approach is ultimately more cost-effective, preventing repeat failures and identifying critical issues before they escalate into catastrophic problems.

Connecting Process to Corrosion

Our expertise lies in understanding the relationship between your operations and the specific damage mechanisms that result. Through our corrosion analysis, we don't just find pitting; we determine if it's caused by under-deposit corrosion from trapped water in a slug catcher, carbonic acid corrosion from dissolved CO₂ in a wet gas line, or impingement damage from a poorly designed inlet pipe. This deep understanding of Process Technology, combined with our mechanical integrity inspection and NDT services, allows us to provide targeted and effective solutions.

Our 4-Step Process: From Data to Decision

Process Consultation & Scope Definition: We start by developing a targeted inspection brief for corrosion analysis. This collaborative discussion allows us to learn about your process, including the service fluid, potential contaminants, and operational history, helping us focus our efforts on the highest-risk areas for mechanical integrity inspection. On-Site Data Acquisition & NDT Management: We conduct thorough on-site visual inspections and manage all required NDT services. As your expert representative, we specify and oversee any advanced NDT that needs to be subcontracted, ensuring the right technology is employed for the job. Integrated Engineering Analysis: We correlate all NDT data with your operational parameters to address the critical question: Why is the corrosion happening here, and what does it reveal about the health of the entire system? Reporting & Strategic Recommendations: You will receive a comprehensive report that includes actionable recommendations for repairs, process adjustments, and future monitoring, ensuring the long-term integrity of your assets.
